Beauty and Skincare Haul
So for the past month I’ve been buying some beauty and skincare bits that I really need. I have been on a buying ban for a month and a half ever since I started working so splurging on some stuff is really therapeutic for me but not for my bank account, apparently. Soz. I bought some toiletries that I’m running out of but those boring bits are better left out because who cares about the type of toothbrush I use?!
I haven’t bought that much makeup because I didn’t need any more but I was in desperate need of a new mascara. I wanted to buy the Maybelline Push Up Angel Mascara but it was always sold out at Guardian (hi there international readers, Guardian is one of the drugstores in Malaysia) whenever they have a 35% off and my cheap ass didn’t want to purchase it at full price so I went for something that was half the price: the Catrice Rock Couture Extreme Volume Mascara. I checked the reviews online and people are loving it (I did, too.)
A few weeks ago, my boyfriend got me two lipsticks from MAC that I really wanted. He went to purchase it alone and he even remembered to give the sales assistant my phone number so both items can be checked out under my name. So proud of you, sayang. I taught you well. I got the shade Satin lipstick in Twig and Matte lipstick in Whirl. Both shades are gorgeous I am definitely in love!
Pretty sure some of you would think that drugstore fragrances are tacky but damn there are gems in there! My current obsession right now is Blisse Joyful Scent in Sweet Love. I have been an avid user of Enchanteur Adore perfume but I’ve been using it so much that I kinda wanted something new and Sweet Love is definitely my scent. I like cheap perfumes for everyday use because I can spray it as much as I want and finishing a bottle a month is not going to break my bank.
I hated aloe vera gel sold in tubs mainly by the Korean cosmetic companies because they’re not suitable for me. I always get small white bumps the next day whenever I used it before bed. But the Guardian Aloe Vera gel, on the other hand, is amazing. It dries out my pimples and my skin doesn’t feel congested or anything. And the best part is it is so inexpensive and you get a lot of product in the tube. I had a voucher to spend so I decided to buy the Guardian makeup wipes because my friend uses it and she loves it! I’m not big on makeup wipes though because I think it doesn’t do a good job in removing my makeup but who knows it might be useful on my lazy days.
Recently, the Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water hit the store and I was just super excited to try it. I got the travel size one because the full size is more expensive than the regular micellar water and I already think that the regular one costs so much money. I heard good things about Freeman’s masks and the most loved and talked about mask (based on what I read on Twitter) is the Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask so I purchased it during weekend sale for RM20. I really love it so far but if you’re in need of a very hydrating mask then this one is not going to suit you.
Facial cleansers are one thing that I can never choose what I want to try and buy because there are just so many different types in the drugstore and I was completely overwhelmed! But my friend suggested that I try the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as it works wonders on her. I need to try it for a few more weeks though before I can make up my mind about it. And the very last thing I got is so boring. I ran out of contact lens solution so I went out and buy some from Bausch + Lomb.
