My Everyday Skincare Routine

For someone who buys skincare products on a regular basis, I sure am the worst at updating about products I have tried or currently trying in my routine. Yikes. I found some hots and nots, but overall I’m pretty happy with products I bought. My last skincare routine was published on December 2016 — Three whole years without sharing an updated routine on my blog. I can pretty much say that I have learned a lot about skincare over the years and am now using products that my skin needs.
My updated skincare routine

BIORÉ Cleansing Oil
The Biore cleansing oil works as my makeup remover and also my first cleanser in the morning. I was a huge fan of Heimish All Clean Balm but it completely stripped the oil on my face leaving me with a super dry skin. With this one, it is not as oil-stripping as the Heimish balm. I love using it in the morning as a cleanser and at night to remove the makeup and SPF I have during the day.
KAYMAN BEAUTY Coalface Soap & Cleanser
I swore by this brand’s cleanser. I’m sure if you’re a Malaysian skincare addict, you’re familiar with the brand Kayman Beauty. This soap is made of honey and charcoal and it’s so good at treating acne. However, I think that it’s too drying for my skin now so once I’m done with this soap, I am going to purchase their Coalface Cleanser which is more gentle for the skin. I only use this soap at night to thoroughly clean my face.
HADA LABO Premium Hydrating Lotion
The Hada Labo Premium Hydrating Lotion is a product that I have never found a dupe for nor do I want to. It’s my ride or die hydrating toner and no other toner could give me a result as close as this one does. They have 3 types of hydrating toner which are the light (oily skin), rich (dry skin), and premium (extra dry skin) to accommodate your skin type. I have oily/combination skin but somehow I prefer the Premium Hydrating Toner to the rich and light ones. I especially love doing the 7 layers of toner whenever my skin needs it.
THE ORDINARY Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I have so much love for this serum. I’ve used bottles upon bottles of this and it puts me at ease knowing that I already bought a backup. It’s just that good and so worth the hype. However, like all products, it may or may not suit you and just because it works for me, doesn’t mean that it works the same for you. I wrote a blog post about this serum if you fancy a read.
KIEHL’S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream
I’ve only used it for about 4 weeks but oh boy, I have so much love for this moisturiser. It moisturises but at the same time doesn’t leave me greasy and oily. It works wonders under makeup and keeps my oil under control. I will definitely purchase it although it’s a lil bit on the pricier side..
BIORÉ UV Perfect Protect Milk Moisture
This was the first sunscreen I’ve ever tried and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s so good for my oily skin and it leaves me matte through the day. I wrote a post about it here if you fancy a read.
A’PIEU Pure Block Tone-Up Sun Base SPF50+
I bought this out of impulse but it has become one of my favourite products ever. I use this when I need to go out and want to look dewy and fresh.
KIEHL’S Butterstick Lip Treatment SPF30
I’ve talked about this here but to conclude, it becomes my favourite everyday lip product. It contains SPF which is a big plus.
KIEHL’S Lip Balm #1
When my lips need a bit more moisture, I use this one instead. I also use this before putting on drying lip products like liquid lipstick.
For at night

LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask
I honestly do not see the hype over this sleeping mask from Laneige but I do enjoy having extra layer of hydration on top of my moisturiser.
KLAVUU Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack
This one, I absolutely love. It smells so good and it really moisturises my lips when I wake up in the morning.
Add-ons
KAYMAN BEAUTY Skintella Repairing Serum
I love using this serum after my facial treatment all thanks to its soothing ingredients that calm the redness on my skin. Other than that, I rarely reach for it.
THE ORDINARY Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
This serum is helpful in brightening my skin complexion. I use this at night when I have extra time for my routine.
THE BODY SHOP Vitamin E Eye Cream
I thank god I don’t have under eye circles but turning 25 in 2 months and a half, I better start using eye cream religiously.
L’OCCITANE Reine Blanche Illuminating Scrub
I’m a big fan of using acids but I’m not able to use them for the time being so I use this gentle scrub to physically exfoliate my skin twice a week.
KIEHL’S Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
The only clay mask that I repurchased over and over because it’s that good. Apart from twice a week masking, I use it as a spot treatment for my pimples.
YELLOW GORGEOUS Oatmeal Turmeric Mask & Scrub

Another one of my new found love in skincare – a local-branded, absolutely amazing oatmeal and turmeric mask from Yellow Gorgeous. It kills my pimples and I enjoy it. I use this when my skin acts up and needs more help than the Kiehl’s Cleansing Masque can offer.

I also have oil/combination skin and I’m currently using the light Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion. I’m not really happy with it so I might try the premium one next. Does the KIEHLS Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque drying your face?
the masque is drying so you only have to use it for 10 mins then rinse it off and proceed with hydrating toner.
While I don’t have as many steps in my skincare routine I do use and love that The Ordinary niamacide serum – it’s the best and works so well on my skin! 🙂
Hope you are having a great weekend! We have a lot of rain which is very welcome, but we have still been able to get out and about 🙂
Away From Blue

I feel the same way about the laniage water sleeping mask. I like it but it isn’t game changing for me like how others describe it.

hehe at least pakai moisturiser je kalau malas sangat 🙂
I still have to find my fav The Ordinary product! Wanted to try Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% but I was scared because my skin hated the Hyaluronic serum!

it’s my fav serum so far! 🙂
A few months ago, I bought the Laneige Sleeping Mask as well but it did not works really well on me. Hahah!
yea it was an ok product, nothing fancy about it hehe
I suffer from redness and found The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to be really helpful in calming it down. Aside from that I usually just use a ren cleanser and an origins moisturiser. Sometimes The Ordinary Lactic Acid if my skin needs exfoliating. xo Sarah @ Oomph London
The Ordinary Niacinamide is my fav skincare product so far! thanks for reading x
So many great products, I use the Laneige sleeping mask too 🙂 I also love Korean skincare and French pharmacy products.
Korean skincare products are awesome! I haven’t known any French pharmacy products though, would love to read about that. Thanks for reading x
I love the Vitamin E eye cream from The Body Shop. It’s so silky and lightweight!
it is! x
I’m still having trouble finding what my skin really needs but for now im focusing on repairing my skin barrier.
so my skincare is very basic for now with only cleanser, moisturiser (i alternte between oily and dry skin moisturizer depending on my skin conditions) and a sunscreen.
for me, toner is important too. and also an oil cleanser.
yeah i agreed. I used it once in a while just when needed.
Kayman Coalface cleanser and soap. ahhh my all time favourite!! but soap works better on my skin since i have super oily skin ^^
i love both but the cleanser one is gentler to the skin 🙂
YES! Kiehl’s lip treatment is such a good find ❤️
