Everything happens for a reason
I now believe that everything happens for a reason. I now believe that the stalling of my degree application leads to a greater good: to save me from making the biggest mistake of my life ie. choosing the wrong course.
For weeks, I have been pushing my dad to get the signature of our housing area headman for my parents’ pay slip. My mom is a housewife and my dad’s work does not require him an official pay slip. I need the signature for my degree application, the university needs to know the parents’ income with verification.
Today, I still haven’t posted my degree application, when Tina, my classmate called me. She talked about the course that we were going to apply to, Bachelor in Medical Sciences (BMS). She told me that the seniors who have taken the course ended up taking MBBS (medical doctor) which I don’t even give a second thought of. I don’t want to be a doctor.
The BMS graduates either apply for MBBS, further their studies in Master or work as medicine suppliers. The range of work is not much as my university is the only university with the BMS course so it is not well-known to most of the universities and companies. The companies wouldn’t be possibly taking graduates of a course that they have no idea of, wouldn’t they?
So I am back to square one, which is Bachelor in Biomedical Science (BBM) that I initially wanted to apply before the whole commotion of my classmates deciding to take BMS. With BBM, the range of work is much bigger if you decided not to do Master. Besides, it is much easier to get into Master program with BBM degree rather than BMS degree.
I now thank my dad for his procrastination in getting the signature and delaying my degree application process along the way.
