things to be happy for this week

Call Upon Him by Mizi Wahid

A few weeks ago my husband came back after work with this book saying that he bought it for me. To be honest, I am not a fan of non-fiction books for obvious reasons. I thought that they were boring. But this one, in particular, talks about steps to strengthen our trust in Allah through our Du'a. I haven't even halfway through (don't really have time to read aka mom of two under two tsk) this book but I already love it. It reminds me of my 20 year-old self making Du'a for what I have right now. The author has two other books in this series called The Art of Letting God and You are Loved which I will be buying soon.

My 2022 digital planner setup

One word: obsessed. Yup. Digital planning is one of the highlights of my 2021 and I am super excited to be planning with my 2022 digital planner from DashPlanner. I have a whole planner/note-taking system consisting of a few planners and notebooks that I'm going to use and a blog post will be coming soon about my overall setup.

Back at my apartment!

I am so happy that I am finally back living in my apartment after three months! We moved temporarily to my in-laws' for a month and to my parents' for two months because I needed help with a newborn baby and also my toddler who's tiring me every day. We're back last Saturday and we did some changes to the apartment. My husband's home office, well, him and his partners got an office space so we changed his home office to the wardrobe/beauty room. The master bedroom is still my workspace plus playroom for my kids. I recently bought a huge playpen for him to play in. What a lifesaver.

Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino

I slept on this drink for a decade and I regret it. It's delicious! It's chocolatey, it's coffee, both I love so much and together they are the bomb. It started a few weeks ago when my cousin brother kindly wanting to get me a drink from Starbucks so I ordered this because I couldn't think of anything else. Lo and behold – I fell in love – it's better than Chocolate Cream Chip that I had been drinking all this while.

Apple Magic Mouse 2

The Magic Mouse that I had was the first version and it has last through nine very useful years. I know that the price is ridiculous for a mere mouse but come on, nine years? At this point it survived an apocalypse, basically. If it hadn't been because of the cursor isn't moving despite still being clickable and the sensor still working, I wouldn't have bought a new one. But it didn't wanna work anymore and I'm just not going to try fixing it anymore. So hello, new mouse, please last at least 10 years. Ok? Ok.

Custom-made gold necklace from my mom

Yesterday, my mom surprised me with a gold necklace that she custom-made with my name. My sister got one too and I love it so, so much. She had it made at the jeweller she frequents at. I am now wearing that gold necklace, a gold bracelet I got from my husband on our wedding day, and a pair of gold earrings my mom got me two years ago. I have never been a fan of gold jewellery. Never thought I'd see the day where I practically drown myself in gold jewellery haha.

Cooking games for kids

My toddler (he's 1 year and 4 months BTW) is at that stage where he wants to explore everything and anything. He mimics everything he sees an adult does and that including wanting to play on my iPad. So I did what every mom does just to keep their kid quiet and from throwing tantrum: I allow him to play games, supervised. I am obsessed with culinary games so that's what I let him play.

I kinda chose games that are easier for him which is Can I Eat It? It's a game for toddlers where they can click yes or no if they think something is edible or not. Obviously he doesn't understand anything so he just clicks away on everything until he's satisfied haha.

My personal favourite is this Coffee Shop game. So basically at the start of the day you have to purchase coffee cups, coffee, milk, and sugar so you can sell the coffee. Mathematics skills is really crucial here because you gotta count how many coffee, milk, and sugar you should purchase to make coffee. Now, you can adjust the portion so it's quite tricky there. It's so hard to make money but I really had fun playing it. And I love coffee so...

Another game that I love playing is Burger Maker. Essentially, it's a time-sensitive game and you have to make burgers according to the list of ingredients. The longer you play, the higher the number of ingredients and ugh I just get so anxious because 10 ingredients?! That's a lot!

What's your favourite this week?
