Starting a new journal ft. Buke Notebook

The metallic edition Leuchtturm1917 dotted notebook has been my closest companion for the last five years, but in lieu with my fifth wedding anniversary next month, I think it’s time to crack open a fresh new journal to commemorate the half decade milestone.

Before settling on this gorgeous black/gold notebook that we’ll talk about in a bit, I contemplated between a powder pink Leuchtturm1917 that I have been lusting for since forever and a Midori MD A5 notebook for that clean, minimalistic, MUJI-like look. However, knowing me, if I don’t feel inclined to order something immediately, then there must be something else that I’m looking for. Something else that would scratch the itch.

When I saw this notebook on Shopee, I immediately fell in love. It is gorgeous. The pages were gold-gilded, and the design on the cover, spine, and back are absolutely immaculate. Gold and black is a superior combination and to have that on a journal with celestial design–amazing, I had to get it.

And the best thing is? For a third of a price of a Luchtturm1917, it’s a no-brainer that I would go for this. The papers are 180gsm in thickness, which makes it perfect for a lot of writing utensils. My pen of choice is the Pentel Energel 07 that leaves no ghosting or bleeding through the pages. I have been writing daily for the past three days–it’s just too beautiful not to be ogled and written on!

You can buy this on Shopee or on Buke website, although I don’t quite fathom why it’s cheaper on Shopee. If you make a purchase from Shopee, it comes with a lot of free stickers, bookmarks, and drawing stencil. The box itself is silver with celestial/galaxy design.
